EA is launching early copies of Mass Effect 3 into space today. Copies of the game will be sent into the stratosphere using a weather balloon and when they fall back to Earth, anyone who finds one will be able to get the game early. 

We sent intrepid IGN adventurers Tim and Alfredo into the fray to see if they can score one of the games. Why does IGN need a free, early copy of Mass Effect 3, you ask? We don’t! Which is why we will be giving it away if we score a copy. 

So be sure to root for Tim and Alfredo, and follow this page for their updates. This is their progress.
